If you’re thinking of buying the HP Pavilion 15 then you are at the right place because in this blog we are going to discuss the configurations of this particular product so let’s get started.
The first thing that we want to say about this product is that it may be not the flashiest laptop due to its predominantly plastic no 360-degree hinge and not a very super lightweight body but definitely, it can be said that it’s fast enough to run pretty much anything and also capable to handle some light gaming with its integrated Vega 8 graphics.
If your question is whether it is the most perfect kind of all-around laptop then we will soon find out the answer.
Design
First for along with the product you get a 45-watt charger and a quick start guide to walk you through the capabilities of the product. Next towards the left side of the laptop, you get a full-size HDMI port, a Gigabit Ethernet port along with a status LED, a USB type-c port, the status LED for SSD drive, and a combo headphone microphone jack. Towards the right side of the body, you get a memory card reader, a Kensington security slot, 2 standard USB type-A ports, and a charging port with its accompanying LED. The build quality of the laptop can be considered as decent as it looks fairly premium but is entirely made of plastic. The keyboard surround of the HP Pavilion 15 along with the palm rest felt really fairly firm but sometimes creaks ever so slightly. Another disappointing factor about it is that the lid of the body is more flexible than required, making it a little flimsy, in addition to it, it offers very little protection to the LCD panel that is behind it.
On powering on the HP Pavilion 15 the user is required to install Windows 10 and this process is done fairly quickly as compared to the usual time it takes due to the presence of the SSD in the device. The display of the device is 15.6 inches large which also includes a 720p HD webcam and dual microphones for noise suppression. The trackpad that is being provided in the device supports a multi-touch. Although touch display can still be considered useful it also limits its capability without 360 degrees.
IPS Panel
When considering the full HD IPS panel, it can be said that it looks crisp and has good viewing angles but due to the presence of the glossy screen, it adds to the reflective appearance hence the user needs to address the tilt of the screen in order to reduce any distracting reflection. As we told earlier that The device comes with a 45 watt AC adaptor which is capable to fully charge a completely empty battery of the laptop within a time period of two hours. The battery life of the device has been quoted as around 9 hours and 30 minutes in mixed usage and 8 hours and 45 minutes for a video playback although this has not been clearly told exactly how they get these figures.
Performance
The HP Pavilion 15 offers a good performance due to the presence of an AMD Ryzen 5 3500U with Radeon™ Vega 8 Graphics which is a Quad-Core processor with 8 virtual threads and has a 2.1 GHz of base speed-boosting 3.7 GHz. This setup is equally powerful as the Intel i5-8250U but the graphics of this system are better than the Intel system. This particular device also has an 8GB of ddr4 RAM running at 2400 MHz and a fast M.2 NVMe 512GB SSD drive.
Talking about the overall review of the device we can say that the system is capable to support light gaming and will not disappoint the users. Another plus point of the HP Pavilion 15 is that it is quite easy to upgrade and replace the components in this device, for example, The battery of the device can be upgraded and so is the case with the RAM which can be upgraded up to 16GB as well as the memory of the device. The 720 p wide vision HD webcam that has been provided in the device also does a fairly decent job which makes this device a decent purchase for any user.
